About
ADAM Meetings
When: Wednesdays at 7:20pm
Where: CISE Building Room 413 (the NAVE)
Historically, the Association of Digital Art & Media (ADAM) has functioned as a flagship organization for the University of Florida’s Digital Art & Science (DAS) program. During this time ADAM maintained a small member base of DAS students, and engaged in projects to explore various digital art procedures and effects. Today, however, ADAM is not only comprised of students from many disciplines, but the mission of the organization has changed to encapsulate this new member makeup.
Officially, ADAM’s mission is:
ADAM works to promote the synergy between the fine arts and the digital community. Activities shall promote consideration of multiple disciplines and areas of study. Further, activities shall offer members an opportunity to work as a team in the development of a digital system.
Hence, ADAM now looks to involve students of many disciplines. Over the years it has been noted that those who appreciate digital art the most are those who do not get the chance to use it in their every day life. Today many ADAM members come from various areas such as engineering, english, math, fine arts, and the DAS program.
This year ADAM hopes to focus on presentations by industry representatives and university faculty to introduce students to the applications of digital media. Additionally, ADAM will sponsor group projects throughout the year. ADAM officers will also offer video tutorials for selected subjects.
It is our hope that whether you want to participate in cutting-edge projects, or learn about some digital media techniques, or even just listen to a group of interesting speakers, ADAM will have something for you.
Historically, ADAM has explored:
- 3D Modeling
- 3D Texturing
- 3D Animation
- Flash Development
- Photoshop Graphics
- Programming
- Digital Photography
